Neurodiverse Couples Recovery Workshops

This interest form is for couples wanting to attend our upcoming Neurodiverse Couples Recovery Workshops. These once a month workshops are specifically designed for neurodiverse couples—with known or suspected autism/Asperger traits—who are in recovery from sexual integrity issues or similar destructive behaviors.

Due to the nature of the topics and discussions in the workshops, couples will be asked to complete an interest form prior to registration. We want to get a better understanding of where you are as a couple. There are occasions where we may put you on the waitlist as you gain individualized support as a couple.

For those interested in attending the 6 workshop series or individual workshops (see below for more details on each workshop topic), please complete this interest form and we will be in touch within 7-14 days.

Individual Workshop Topics

Accepting the Realities of Neurodiversity—Saturday, April 12th, 2025

In this workshop we will be sharing the complexities of being in a neurodiverse marriage while also in recovery from sexual integrity struggle or other destructive behaviors. We will start by looking deeper into the reality of accepting a newly discovered or existing, formal or informal, diagnosis of Autism Spectrum or Asperger's Syndrome. We'll look at what it means to be neurodiverse, moving through awareness, acceptance, and action, as well as understanding the process of grief that a diagnosis can bring.

Relational Safety—Saturday, May 10th, 2025

In this workshop we will be taking a deep dive into understanding relational safety for those destructive behaviors in your relationship. You will receive a 15-page guide to follow along as you create a unique plan for your situation. We will spend time giving specific examples of sexual integrity breeches of trust and non-sexual relational breeches in trust. There will be explanations so that you will feel equipped when you leave the workshop to create a plan that will proactively bring stability and begin to build trust to your relationship.

Expressive Communication—Saturday, June 21st, 2025 (There will be a break in July)

In this workshop we delve into 'expressive' communication and the obstacles that must be addressed to achieve desired outcomes. We will identify elements of verbal and non-verbal communication and what words and expressions are saying. You will receive an communication prompt sheet for how to express yourself better in certain situations, as well as additional tools to better share concerns and grievances with one another.

Receptive Communication—Saturday, August 9th, 2025

In this workshop we look at the receptive side of communication and how we receive what is being shared with us. Also understanding that being a ‘good listener’ requires skill and work, we look at some tools that can be used to ensure we are not just listening to our partner, but truly hearing what they are saying. We also will provide resources on how different types of feedback are received, and discuss how an effective ‘redo’ can allow you to move past a negative communication cycle, and provide the opportunity to remain connected and keep the conversation moving forward.

Empathy & Theory of Mind—Saturday, September 13th, 2025

In this workshop, we dive into some of the ways in which neurodiverse couples can navigate the challenges that a lack of empathy and theory of mind brings to the relationship. We will share practical examples of good approaches and those that bring more harm to the non-autistic spouse. You will receive resources with intentional steps you can take to build connection and understanding for one another.

Conflict Restoration & Repair—Saturday, October 18th, 2025

In this workshop we will discuss the common conflicts experienced by those in neurodiverse relationship. We will discuss what we see works best providing you with tools and methods you can use to bring more success to the repair attempts being made, and how the path toward restoration requires the neurodiverse couple to adapt and adjust to the needs of one another.

~ If you are unable to attend a workshop that you have registered for, you will receive the recording.

~ Dates to be provided upon registration for the mid-month open discussions and Q&A. Will be Saturday mornings for the guys with Kevin and Monday midday for the gals with Shawna.
