Beautifully Broken

There is a Japanese art form that repairs broken pottery by filling the seams with gold-infused lacquer, where the breaks once were. The repair makes it quite beautiful and the valuation of the piece is greater than the original.

This necklace here represents a heart that was broken and through only the repair work of a God that understand and knows how to heal those deep wounds, a willingness to see if repair was possible, believable behaviors over time from the one that caused the breaks – this heart is mended and healed unlike it ever thought possible. More beautiful than before. It has scars from where it was broken that will always be visible. Yet, it’s inseams of beauty with gold radiate and draw your attention there. No longer do you notice the breaks as once before.

This heart in the picture is my own. It was a gift to me. This heart necklace represents my physical heart that had once been broken and now is restored like never before. It is possible.

If you are in a season or know someone who is in a season of a broken heart, it won’t be wasted. It won’t be thrown away.  It can be restored with a beauty like you never expected. It can be inlayed with gold no matter the circumstances. Stronger. More valuable. More beautiful than before. Wounds and scars are what shape us and what we choose to do with them is the real gift.

You are worth this beauty too. Keep walking out your story of hardship with strength and courage. Believing that a God that has great plans for you is not finished yet. Will you wait with holy anticipation to see what He has in store for you?
